Founder & Principal Consultant

Terri Winter, CPIM, MBOE is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Winter OpEx Solutions LLC, bringing more than two decades of hands-on expertise in supply chain management, materials planning, procurement, and operational excellence. A recognized leader in Lean methodologies and strategic sourcing, Terri has built her career helping organizations reduce waste, strengthen processes, and achieve measurable, sustainable performance improvements.

Terri’s experience spans global organizations in manufacturing, medical systems, and industrial operations. She has led high-impact sourcing strategies, managed multimillion-dollar spend portfolios, optimized global distribution networks, and driven end-to-end process improvements across complex supply chains. At Bettcher Industries, she led a multidisciplinary team supporting strategic materials planning and supplier management for a private equity–owned manufacturing operation, delivering over $800K in annual cost savings and spearheading risk-mitigation, sourcing, and inventory optimization initiatives.

During her 14-year tenure at Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, Terri served in progressive global supply chain roles, ultimately acting as a Lean Site Leader responsible for continuous improvement strategy. She managed global replenishment, reverse logistics, ECO processes, spare parts planning, and supplier performance across a worldwide network. Terri led multiple major improvement programs, including a Capstone initiative that eliminated $550K in supply chain waste and a cross-functional project that reduced production inefficiencies and saved $800K annually, while maintaining 98%+ on-time delivery performance for mission-critical global customers.

Terri is known for her ability to diagnose root causes, design practical solutions, and engage teams at every level, from frontline staff to executive leadership. Her approach blends Lean Six Sigma discipline, data-driven decision-making, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics combined with training, coaching and interactive simulations. She has successfully implemented value stream mapping, A3 systems thinking, strategic sourcing optimization, and process redesign across operations of all sizes.

A continual learner and passionate mentor, Terri has developed and taught APICS/ASCM curriculum as a CPIM instructor, and currently serves as Chapter President of ASCM Cleveland, leading education and professional development initiatives within the regional supply chain community.

Terri holds a Master of Business Operational Excellence (MBOE) from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and multiple advanced certifications including Six Sigma Green Belt, CPIM, Lean Supply Chain & Logistics Professional and Black Belt Six Sigma Trained + Practiced.
